Terms & Conditions
Last Updated: 18 March 2025 · Effective Date: 18 March 2025
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Warisan Advocates website at warisana.info ("the Website") and the engagement of legal services provided by Warisan Advocates ("the Firm", "we", "us"). Please read these Terms carefully before using the Website or contacting us to engage our services.
By accessing the Website or submitting an enquiry, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please refrain from using the Website.
1. Nature of the Website
The Website is an information resource. Its contents are provided for general informational purposes only. Nothing on this Website constitutes legal advice, and no solicitor-client relationship is formed by your use of the Website or submission of an enquiry form.
Legal advice is provided only after we have assessed your matter, confirmed there is no conflict of interest, agreed on a scope of engagement in writing, and where applicable, received a retainer payment. Until those steps are completed, any communication between you and the Firm is pre-engagement correspondence only.
2. Information Accuracy
We take reasonable care to keep the content on the Website accurate and current. However, family law and related procedure can change, and we make no representation that every page reflects the most current legal position at the time you read it.
You should not act or refrain from acting on the basis of any material on this Website without first seeking independent legal advice specific to your circumstances. We are not liable for decisions made in reliance on Website content alone.
3. Engagement of Services
A formal engagement with Warisan Advocates is governed by a separate Letter of Engagement and the standard terms issued at the time of engagement. Those documents, together with the applicable professional rules of the Malaysian Bar, constitute the agreement between you and the Firm for the provision of legal services.
Service fees described on this Website represent current standard rates and may be revised from time to time. The applicable fee for your matter will be confirmed in the Letter of Engagement before work begins.
Payment terms, disbursement arrangements, and billing intervals are set out in the Letter of Engagement. Professional fees are subject to applicable taxes as prescribed by law.
4. Confidentiality of Enquiries
Information you share through our website enquiry form is treated with discretion. We handle pre-engagement correspondence in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable professional obligations.
Please note that email and web forms are not fully secure communication channels. If your matter is sensitive, we encourage you to call us directly or request an encrypted video consultation. Our Privacy Policy governs how all personal data you share with us is stored and used.
5. Intellectual Property
All text, design elements, and other content on the Website is the property of Warisan Advocates or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property law. You may view and print content for personal, non-commercial use only.
You may not reproduce, republish, or distribute any part of the Website without our prior written consent. Copying content for the purpose of building a competing service or misleading third parties about the source is not permitted.
6. Third-Party Links
The Website may contain links to external resources — for example, court directories, government portals, or mediation bodies — for your reference. We do not control those sites and accept no responsibility for their content, accuracy, or availability. A link from our Website does not signify our endorsement of any third-party service.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Warisan Advocates is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the Website, reliance on its content, or from any interruption or unavailability of the Website.
Our liability for the provision of legal services is subject to the terms of the applicable Letter of Engagement, the Legal Profession Act 1976, and any applicable rules or guidelines of the Malaysian Bar.
8. Complaints
If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of our service, we ask that you first raise your concern with the supervising practitioner on your matter. We will make every effort to address it promptly and fairly.
If the matter is not resolved to your satisfaction, you may refer a complaint to the Disciplinary Board of the Malaysian Bar in accordance with the Legal Profession Act 1976.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia. Any disputes arising from your use of the Website or these Terms are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.
10. Amendments
We may revise these Terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update. Your continued use of the Website after a revision constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
